ABOUT COLLEGE
The Government College Of Engineering And Textile Technology is also known as GCETT is a Pioneer Institute in the Field of Research Education on Textile Technology. It was established in 1908 as the Government Central Weaving Institute. This Institute is under the administrative control of the Department of Higher Education of the Government of West Bengal and Directorate of Technical education West Bengal. The main moto was to provide teaching & research in Textile Technology and assistance to Industries and also to provide training and organize seminars/workshops. This college is affiliated to the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology) and is approved by AICTE and also offered courses like B. Tech in Information Technology, Computer Science & Engineering, Apparel Production Management. The library has a collection of 12,000 documents including books, journals, reports, proceedings, pamphlets, and lab-manuals etc.
